Abstract:


Micro learning is a new method of learning used in education, where the learning contents are divided in small pieces through tiny steps. Audio Podcast is an electronic tool to listen the recorded audio through portable devices. This research has tested the impact of Micro Audio Podcasts on the students, studied the course unit of English for dictation and missing words. Total number of students was twenty four, divided in two groups, experimental group ‘A’ and control group ‘B’, where ‘A’ was supported with Micro Audio Podcasts, along with face to face instruction as a blended learning mode. Group ‘B’ was studied through the face to face method of learning, only. After the use of Audio Podcasts, exam was taken to test the impact of the Micro Audio Podcasts on the studied unit of English, and comparisons were done on the group means of exam results for both the groups. Moreover, feedback of learners through a survey questionnaire was taken from the experimental group ‘A’ for ‘Before’ and ‘After’ stages towards the use of Micro Audio Podcasts to compare the students attitudes on the following dependent variables: i). ‘Engagement’, ii). ‘Motivation’, iii). ‘Friendly’ while using, and iv). Help of Micro Audio Podcast ‘in understanding the contents of course unit’, v). Help ‘in learning the contents of course unit’, vi). Help ‘in getting high marks in the exam’, vii). Students ‘favorite mode of learning’. Comparisons have been done on group means of experimental group ‘A’ for ‘Before’ and ‘After’ stages on the questionnaires’ feedback for these dependent variables. Results of this study are very interesting for the educators and researchers involved in the use of technology driven classrooms for teaching the English courses.
