This paper discuss the importance of e- readiness assessment in a structured and quantitative way that contains relevant and valid criteria to assess readiness within organizations from various and balanced perspectives. Such assessment will help in e-transformation planning; in the same time it will protect organization’s investments in this direction. The proposed organizational e-readiness model consists of five interrelated categories, these are: strategy, business process, technology, organization’s culture (ability to change), and ICT Security. Each group of criteria contains set of sub measurable criteria. In simple words, organization needs clear strategic direction, which will support reformulation of strategically derived business processes to be enabled using IT technology by its wide means; if these three factors are ready and relatively matured, the organization needs a change- supportive environment like sincere leadership, and managed risks in order to carry it out successfully. Finally, the criticality of information security is complimenting the other factors as it is receiving high concerns from stakeholders and already classified as one of the barriers for e-transformation. This paper will discuss a proposed model and its auditing methods that will help organizations formulate strategic direction for e-transformation.
