Recently, there are many works about agent-based approaches for the World Wide Web Information Re-search (IR). While agent-based market systems prove to be efficient for implementing e-commerce applica-tions on the Web, the use of agents in non-market domains, for example IR systems, is not yet wide-spread. The success of agents is due to their market-oriented interaction mechanisms. The paradigm of agents should give the researchers a new way to achieve efficient agents-based IR systems. We feel that integrating market mechanisms to agents should improve non market applications problems such as IR systems. In this paper, we present how to use a market approach in IR. The main idea is to propose a new agents’ interaction model, the seller – buyer model which is a basis of a market-oriented agent-based architecture for searching system. Finally, we give an experimental validation to our proposition.
